Upcoming Events
  • Bakeless Bake Sale
The Moravian Women are holding their annual Bakeless Bake Sale this week. Donations can be placed in a basket in the narthex, the offering plate, or mailed to the church office. Please designate "Bakeless Bake Sale" on your donations. Sit back, relax, and experience the joy of not cooking!

  • Pastor Jason out of the office
I will be out of the office from Wednesday, October 18th - Saturday, October 21st attending a Continuing Education event. I will be meeting with several other clergy from around the District for a few days of case studies, accountability work, prayer, and worship. We will also be reviewing and discussing the book, Canoeing the Mountains: Christian Leadership in Uncharted Territory. Thank you for factoring in this time in our annual budget for me to work on becoming a better pastor!
I will also be out of the office from Thursday, October 26th - Saturday, October 28th at a gathering of District and Provincial Boards in Ohio. This is the second of a series of three meetings to review the reports from the Provincial IPO (Identity, Purpose, and Organization) Team in advance of next summer's Provincial Synod.

  • Third Thursday Family Night -- "Make Your Own Pizzas"
Our next Family Night will be held on Thursday, October 19th at 6:30 pm. We will begin with a shared meal of “make-your-own pizzas”! Crusts and sauce will be provided – bring your favorite pizza toppings and then make your own personal pan pizza! You can play cards or board games, Bible Study materials will be provided, you can continue in relaxed conversation around the table, or you can organize a discussion around a specific relevant topic. There will be some soft music playing in the sanctuary for those who would simply like to take some moments to unwind in prayer at the end of a busy day or busy week. All are welcome! Invite your friends.

  • Mobile Pack Event for "Feed My Starving Children"
“Feed My Starving Children” is a ministry that packs meals for starving children all around the world. We will help pack meals on Saturday, October 28th at the Grand Avenue Elementary School in Prairie du Sac. We will meet at church that morning at 8:00 am, caravan to the site, work a 2-hour shift from 9:00 - 11:00 am, and then go out to lunch together. We will return to the church by early afternoon. If you’d like to help out, you can sign up at church or by clicking here. We have 25 spots reserved, of which 11 are already accounted for.

  • Helping Out at Tricklebee Café
Our next day to help out at the Tricklebee Café is Saturday, November 4th. We will gather at church at 7:30 am and caravan over to Milwaukee; we will return in the early afternoon. We will be doing food prep, serving food, bussing tables, doing dishes, and other work around the café. Due to space considerations (both theirs and ours), we can only send up to 5 people each month. If you’d like to help out, you sign up by clicking here or on the volunteer sheet at the back of church. For more information, visit their website by clicking here or find them on Facebook.

  • Church Council Meeting
On Sunday, November 5th, we will have our annual Church Council meeting. At this meeting we will discuss and approve a budget for 2018 and hold elections for our Elders and Trustees. We will also elect our delegate and alternate to attend the Provincial Synod next summer in Bethlehem, PA. A nominating committee is being formed to ask members if they’d be interested in serving. However, even if you aren’t asked to serve, you are welcome and encouraged to contact the church office to volunteer to be nominated for the Elders, Trustees, or Synod delegate.

  • Peru Mission Presentation
Mark your calendar and plan to attend ‘An Afternoon for Mission’ at the Watertown Moravian Church located at 510 Cole. Southern Wisconsin Moravians for Mission is excited to hear from Deb Fischer and Jeff Mallach about their recent trip to Peru. Great things are happening in Peru and Jeff and Deb will share their experience on Sunday, November 5th at 2:00 pm. Bring a friend and plan on staying after their presentation for refreshments.

  • Thanksgiving Lovefeast
On Sunday, November 19th, during worship we will participate in a Moravian lovefeast! Lovefeasts are traditional Moravian customs used to celebrate special occasions. It involves partaking of a simple meal – a bun or cookie and a drink – within the context of worship as a way of emphasizing the importance of fellowship and mutual ministry as the body of Christ.

  • Advent Workshop
It’s hard to believe, but it will be Thanksgiving and Christmas before you know it! Following worship on Sunday, November 26th, we will have a potluck lunch and then get our sanctuary ready for the Advent and Christmas season. We will put up the tree, trim beeswax candles, and decorate our church facilities.

  • Unity Prayer Watch
The Unity Prayer Watch is designed to have at least one Moravian somewhere in the world constantly in prayer! This year, our church will share Sunday, December 3rd with our brothers and sisters at the Watertown, Ebenezer, London, Glenwood, and Lakeview congregations, and with the Tricklebee Cafe. The hours we have been assigned for that day are 1:00 - 2:00 am, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, and 7:00 - 8:00 pm. You can volunteer to pray for one or more 15-minute shifts by signing up at church or by clicking here. If you need prayer material, please contact Pastor Jason.

  • Mowing the Church Lawn
If you would like to help out by mowing the church lawn once or twice this summer, please volunteer on the sign up sheet at the back of church. You can also sign up to mow the lawn using our Sign-Up Genius online form by clicking here.
