Upcoming Events
  • Moravian Gifts for Sale
Looking for gifts for someone on your Christmas shopping list who loves Moravian collectibles? Moravian gifts are available for sale before and after worship in the narthex.

  • Weekly Bible Study
Pastor Jason leads a weekly Bible Study at church. We meet each Thursday morning from 9:00 - 10:00 am (starting Nov. 30th). If you are interested in spending more time in God's Word, you are welcome. Invite a friend!

  • Youth Lock-In
We will be having a lock-in for youth in grade 1 and up on Friday, December 8th at the Watertown Moravian Church. We will ring bells for the Salvation Army and then have the lock-in at their church with food, fellowship, and games! If you are interested in going as a youth or a chaperone, please reply to this email.

  • Mitten Tree
We are again partnering with the DeForest Area Needs Network (D.A.N.N.) to help local families in need. Please sign up on the volunteer sheet in the narthex, take the corresponding number on the mitten tree, and return the gifts by Sunday, December 10th.

  • Madison Homeless Shelter
We will again be helping out at the Madison Homeless Shelter in December. We will be making lunches for the shelter on Tuesday, October 12th at 7:00 am and serving breakfast at the shelter on Wednesday, December 13th at 6:00 am. If you’d like to help out, please speak with Peggy Landgraf. Also, we would like to serve some breakfast sausages with the French toast. If you would like to donate some frozen, pre-cooked breakfast sausage links, please speak with Peggy Landgraf.

  • Rehearsal-Free Christmas Program
Tired of having seemingly never-ending list of things that need to be done around the holidays? Well, we’re happy to offer one less thing to do! Join us on Sunday, December 17th during our 10:30 am worship service for a Rehearsal-Free Christmas Program! No driving kids to practice, no lines to memorize, no costumes to make. Just show up and watch (or if you’d like, participate in) a simple and beautiful retelling of the Christmas story, rehearsal-free!

  • Blue Christmas Service
On Sunday, December 17th at 7:00 pm, we will have a Blue Christmas worship service in the sanctuary. This service is especially for anyone for whom the holiday season isn't necessarily always a season of joy. Perhaps it's a broken relationship, perhaps you are mourning or remembering the passing of a loved one, perhaps you are dealing with seasonal or long-term depression -- whatever the reason, God is in the midst of the darknesses with which we struggle. Join us and light a candle to remember the light that shines in the midst of our darkness.

  • Christmas Eve Services
Christmas Eve happens to fall on a Sunday this year, so the fourth Sunday of Advent is also the day before Christmas. We will have our 10:30 am worship service, then we will have our Christmas Eve Candelight Services in the evening – 4:30 and 7:00 pm. If you are interested in being a candle server for either evening service, please reply to this email.

  • Christmas Carol Sing
Pastor Jason will be on vacation on Sunday, December 31st. The Elders will lead worship that day and we will have an old fashioned Christmas Carol Sing. Come and enjoy the holidays as we sing all the favorites and lift our voices in praise of the newborn King!

  • Helping Out at Tricklebee Café
Our next day to help out at the Tricklebee Café is Saturday, January 6th. We will gather at church at 7:30 am and caravan over to Milwaukee; we will return in the early afternoon. We will be doing food prep, serving food, bussing tables, doing dishes, and other work around the café. Due to space considerations (both theirs and ours), we can only send up to 5 people each month. If you’d like to help out, you can sign up by clicking here or on the volunteer sheet at the back of church. For more information, visit their website by clicking here or find them on Facebook.

  • Drawing of 2018 Watchwords
Please join us on Sunday, January 7th as we observe the Moravian custom of drawing watchwords for the coming year. Watchwords are Bible verses that you are invited to meditate upon and use as guides for the year ahead. We will also draw watchwords for our various Boards and groups within the church, and a watchword for the congregation.

  • Third Thursday Family Night
We will skip Family Night in December. Our next Family Night will be held on Thursday, January 18th at 6:30 pm. We will begin with a shared meal at 6:30. A main dish will be provided, you are welcome to bring a side dish to pass if you'd like. After the meal, there will be time to play cards or board games, Bible Study materials will be provided, you can continue in relaxed conversation around the table, or you can organize a discussion around a specific relevant topic. There will be some soft music playing in the sanctuary for those who would simply like to take some moments to unwind in prayer at the end of a busy day or busy week. All are welcome! Invite your friends.

  • Looking Ahead
Our annual Chili Supper will be held on Thursday, January 25th and our annual Pie Auction will be held following worship on Sunday, February 11th. Mark your calendars for these special events coming up in the new year!

  • Church Council Meeting
We will have a Church Council meeting following worship on Sunday, January 28th. We will have a potluck lunch and then hold a meeting where we will receive reports from our various board and groups within the church. Chairs and secretaries are asked to have their reports in to the church office by Friday, January 19th so they can be made available a week ahead of time.
